🔒 Short version: WinStreak stores all your data locally on your device only. We never collect, upload, or share your personal information. No account is required. The only third-party data collection is from Google AdMob for advertising, which is standard for free apps and disclosed fully below.
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how WinStreak ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the WinStreak Android application ("the App") and our website at getwinstreak.com.
By downloading and using WinStreak, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Medical Disclaimer

WinStreak is a motivational wellness and habit-tracking application. It is NOT a medical application and does NOT provide medical advice, medical diagnosis, or medical treatment of any kind.
The health milestone information, recovery timelines, and body-related statements displayed in the App are based on general publicly available research and are provided solely for informational and motivational purposes. They may not apply to every individual and are not a substitute for professional medical advice.
If you are experiencing substance dependence, addiction, withdrawal symptoms, or any physical or mental health concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare professional immediately.
Do not delay seeking professional medical help because of information seen in this App. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
WinStreak collects and stores the following data locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party (except where noted under Advertising below):
- Your selected habit type (e.g. alcohol, smoking, social media)
- Your streak start date and daily check-in history
- Your daily spend amount (used for the money saved calculator)
- Your savings goal amount and label
- Your personal "why" text (the reason you entered for quitting)
- Your first name (if provided, for personalised greeting only)
- Your challenge goal duration (30/60/90 days or custom)
- Your notification preferences and reminder time
- Your app theme preference (dark/light mode)
- Your streak history, including any past relapses
- Achievement badge unlock status
All of the above is stored using Android's local SharedPreferences system. It is deleted permanently when you uninstall the App.
3.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
WinStreak does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any registration credentials
- Your location
- Your contacts or call logs
- Your camera or microphone data
- Your financial account information
- Any biometric data
- Any data from other apps on your device
We operate without any user accounts, login systems, or cloud synchronisation.
4. Advertising — Google AdMob
WinStreak is free to use and is supported by advertising through Google AdMob. As a result of displaying ads, Google AdMob may automatically collect certain information from your device. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours.
4.1 What AdMob May Collect
- Device advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / AAID)
- IP address
- Device type, manufacturer, and model
- Operating system version
- App interaction data (ad impressions, clicks)
- Approximate geographic location (country/region level, derived from IP)
- Diagnostic information
4.2 How AdMob Uses This Data
Google AdMob uses this data to deliver relevant advertisements, measure ad performance, and prevent fraudulent activity. WinStreak does not receive or have access to this personally identifiable information.
4.3 Opting Out of Personalised Ads
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through your device settings:
- Go to Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device
- Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalisation"
You can also review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and their advertising opt-out page at adssettings.google.com.
Note: Opting out means ads may be less relevant, but you will still see ads in the App.
5. In-App Review
WinStreak may prompt you to rate the app after reaching certain milestones (such as Day 7). This feature uses Google Play's In-App Review API and is entirely optional. Declining the prompt has no impact on your app experience. WinStreak does not collect or store your review or rating. Any review submitted is handled directly by Google Play and is subject to their policies.
6. Notifications
WinStreak sends local push notifications to your device based on your preferences. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no notification content is transmitted to external servers. You can disable any or all notifications at any time in the app's Settings screen or through your device's notification settings.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
WinStreak is intended for users aged 17 and above. The App includes references to alcohol, smoking, gambling, and other habit categories that make it unsuitable for children.
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through this App, please contact us at support@winstreakapp.com and we will take steps to ensure such information is not processed.
If you are between 13 and 17, please use this App only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
8. GDPR — European Union Users
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to your data.
8.1 Legal Basis for Processing
The limited personal data processed by WinStreak (locally on your device) is processed on the basis of legitimate interest — specifically, to provide the core functionality of the App you have chosen to use. AdMob's data collection is based on consent where required.
8.2 Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right of access: You can see all your data directly within the App (streak history, settings, etc.)
- Right to erasure: Uninstalling the App permanently and irrecoverably deletes all locally stored data
- Right to data portability: Data export is planned as a future feature
- Right to object to AdMob personalisation: Use the opt-out method described in Section 4.3

9. CCPA / CPRA — California Users
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with specific rights.
9.1 Categories of Personal Information Collected
- By WinStreak directly: None — all data is stored locally on your device only
- By Google AdMob: Device identifiers, IP address, and usage data (as described in Section 4)
9.2 Do We Sell Personal Information?
No. WinStreak does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
9.3 Your California Rights
- Right to Know: You have the right to know what personal data is collected — this policy describes it fully
- Right to Delete: Uninstall the App to delete all locally stored data
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell data. No opt-out required.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: Exercising your privacy rights will not affect your access to the App

10. Data Retention
WinStreak retains data only on your device for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, all data is permanently deleted from your device. WinStreak does not retain backups, cloud copies, or server-side records of any user data.
11. Data Security
Your data is stored using Android's SharedPreferences system, which benefits from Android's built-in device-level security including hardware-backed encryption on supported devices. Since no data is transmitted to external servers, your information is not exposed to network-level risks through our App. We recommend keeping your device secured with a PIN, password, or biometric lock.
12. Third-Party Services Summary

WinStreak does not integrate Firebase, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, Facebook SDK, or any other analytics or tracking SDKs beyond those listed above.
13. International Users
WinStreak is developed and operated for a global audience. Since no personal data is transmitted to our servers, there are no international data transfer concerns for the data WinStreak itself processes. Google AdMob may transfer data internationally in accordance with Google's data transfer policies and safeguards.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our practices. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
